CITÉ Salon

The public and private sectors must work together in order to make Osaka more appealing and internationally competitive. CITÉ Salon is a membership organization (current membership as of February 2005: 39 companies) formed in January 1992 by private companies interested in city planning, with the aim of "promoting energetic and appeal-oriented urban planning for the new age." The organization has its office in the CITÉ Center, from which it conducts a wide range of activities, including surveys, studies, and information exchanges that go beyond the business categories of its members, and information exchanges with the City of Osaka and other government agencies.

Theme Forums

Forums are held on a wide range of themes related to city planning, and each forum is led by an expert.

Current workshops and their themes are as follows.

The current themes are: (1) "Renewal of 808 bridges of Naniwa" which considers the bridges of Osaka; (2) "Traditional Cuisine and Landscapes" (3) "Boosting City Tourism -Part 2" which considers aspects of sightseeing in Osaka.

Publishing the "CITÉ Lettre" Newsletter

We publish "CITÉ Lettre" a newsletter that acts as a link between the CITÉ Salon member companies and the city administration. The newsletter contains news about theme forums, workshops, and other CITÉ Salon activities, and interviews with industry leaders that probe their thoughts on city planning and the aims and history of policies and measures.
