Scenes of exhilarating Osaka
In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Osaka City Foundation
for Urban Technology in 2000, a photo contest was held. The theme of the
contest was 100 views of Osaka we want people to see. Following
on in that vein, a second contest was held in 2002, again calling for
scenes of Osaka. The results of the latter contest - all of them wonderful
scenes of our proud city - are shown here for all to see.
The theme of this contest is Scenes from exhilarating Osaka,
and that is to say, photographs of familiar, everyday scenes that spark
feelings of excitement and wonder in the viewer. Contestants were invited
to enter photographs of lanes, streets and street corners, public squares
and meeting places, as well as underground scenes. In other words, scenes
that not only are exciting to see, but which also make the people who
saw them feel excited at the mere memory of the encounter.
